What is ACupuncture?

Acupuncture is the most well-known aspect of Chinese Medicine. During the therapy, an acupuncturist inserts thin needles into specific points. These needles stimulate the central nervous system to release chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes strengthen the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.

The practitioner considers every aspect of the patient's life before the points are selected. Sometimes it may be impossible to change someone's life circumstance, but by using Acupuncture, we focus on the patient's overall wellbeing, allowing them to cope better with difficulties.

Acupuncture is widely known for its effectiveness in treating musculoskeletal injuries but has traditionally been used extensively in treating respiratory, digestive, gynecological, and many other chronic conditions.

What to Expect in a Treatment?

A visit to my clinic will take up to 45 mins to an hour. I will go into your health from a holistic point of view, often covering digestion, sleep, stress response, and general health.

I will make a diagnosis, and your treatment may consist of several therapies in conjunction with Acupuncture, such as cupping, moxibustion balm, infrared light therapy, and tuina (traditional Chinese massage).

I leave the needles in place for 20-25 mins. Often, people go into a state of deep relaxation, and many drift off into a brief but sound sleep.
